Product Name: Isothiazolinones (CMIT/MIT) Biocide
CAS No.: 26172-55-4, 2682-20-4
Molecular Weight: 115.16
Chemical Name: 5-Chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one/2-Methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one
Synonyms: Isothiazolinone derivatives; Kathon; CMIT/MIT

Isothiazolinones (CMIT/MIT) is a broad-spectrum, highly efficient biocide composed of 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (CMI) and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one (MI). It works by breaking the bonds of bacterial and algal proteins, rapidly and irreversibly inhibiting microbial growth and leading to cell death. Features good biodegradability, no residue, safe operation, excellent compatibility, strong stability, and low cost of use.
